16-19 Bursary
The Government provides additional funding to help 16 to 19-year-old students meet the costs associated with education, including meals, books, equipment and travel.
Eligible students may be able to access one of two types of financial support:
- Bursaries for students in defined vulnerable groups
- Discretionary bursaries
If you think you may be eligible, please read the 16-19 Bursary Statement below. This outlines the eligibility criteria, evidence requirements and application process in full.
Students currently studying in the Sixth Form who have previously received a 16-19 bursary should speak to the Sixth Form Learning Mentor regarding their application for continued support.
All applications and supporting evidence should be submitted by Monday 19 October 2026. This will enable us to assess the overall demand and distribute discretionary awards correctly and fairly. However, we do understand that needs may arise throughout the academic year, and we will still consider applications after this date where appropriate.
