Residential Opportunities
Rowan Park
At Rowan Schools, we believe in providing our students with enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Our residentials offer a unique opportunity for students to explore new activities, develop skills, and form lasting memories in a safe and supportive environment. These holiday programs are designed to promote socialisation, independence, and personal growth while offering a fun and engaging experience.
Our residentials are held during the school week. They combine the benefits of a residential stay with a wide range of exciting activities that are tailored to the abilities and interests of our students. From outdoor adventures to creative workshops, our goal is to provide enriching experiences that encourage confidence, independence, and teamwork. Our skills and knowledgeable staff will support pupils during these times and can administer any medications needed.

Rowan High
At Rowan High School, residentials are a valued part of our wider curriculum and play a key role in developing confidence, independence and life skills beyond the classroom. Each residential is carefully planned to be age‑appropriate, inclusive and meaningful, ensuring all students benefit from rich learning experiences that support their personal and social development.
Key Stage 3 and 4 students take part in outdoor‑adventurous residentials designed to build resilience, teamwork and self‑belief.
- Years 7 and 8 attend Barnstondale on the Wirral, where students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones through activities such as climbing, raft building, zip lines and team‑building challenges.
- Years 9, 10 and 11 progress to High Adventure in the Yorkshire Dales, offering more demanding activities that promote leadership, perseverance and mutual support.
-
- Key Stage 5 residentials take a different focus, reflecting students’ transition towards adulthood. Sixth Form students visit London, where they experience cultural enrichment through sightseeing and attending a live performance in the West End. This residential supports independence, cultural awareness and preparation for life beyond Rowan High, giving students the confidence to engage with the wider world as they prepare for their next steps.
Across all key stages, our residentials are inclusive, supportive and enriching, providing memorable experiences that contribute significantly to students’ personal development, wellbeing and readiness for the future.
