At Rowan Park and The Rowan Tree we encourage children to experiment with media and materials finding out about their properties and modifying and manipulating them. We encourage children to choose and use materials and media in an open-ended way o help them make choices and build confidence. This is scaffolded and supported by staff within the class. We encourage role play, music play, pretend play, block play and small world play to build on children’s real life experience and transform that into something new.
