Here at Rowan Park we offer the bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and are currently developing our silver award scheme.
We offer a tailor made award that is fully inclusive for all of our pupils who participate. The award aims to promote communication skills, problem solving, resilience and independence whilst spending time in the great outdoors. It is a great opportunity to gain a nationally recognised award.
Pupils lead the way, set up their tents, cook their own food and stay the sleep in a tent during the expedition. For some of our pupils, it is the first time they have spent the night away from home building their confidence
‘I am very proud of the Bronze award here at Rowan Park School and look forward to developing the silver award. The pupil enjoy the different roles they have and grow in confidence as individuals whilst also working well as part of the team. Please see below the pictures of our latest expedition’.
